Regulations

The Rules & Regulations have been rewritten, please read them very carefully. The material specifications, program rights issues and the deadlines are clearly outlined in this document.

Please, mind the novelties in the Rules that are marked NEW!

Art. 1. GOAL

1.1. The traditional International Festival for Radio Programs will be held from 4th – 8th June, 2008 at the Black Sea Albena resort in Bulgaria.

1.2. The goal of the Festival is to select and reward the best productions made during the last year. Good ideas, new formats and the professional implementation of radio programs will be evaluated, thus creating meaningful competition between the radio stations and the independent producers.

Art. 2. CATEGORIES

2.1. Each organization, independent producer or authorized distributor may submit entries in the following categories:

2.2. The applicant may submit up to three programs in any one category.

2.3. NEW! Each applicant admitted to the competition program should make a presentation of the competition entry of not more than six minutes’ duration to the Festival Jury and audience (video material in AVI format/ slide show/moderator to present the media).

Art. 3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND RULES

3.1. The maximum duration of each program (broadcast) should be 60 minutes. Edited versions of longer programs may be submitted.

3.2. The deadline for receiving the entry forms and the materials with the competitive programs is 16th May 2008.

3.3. The forms should contain up to 5 lines annotation in English.

3.4. The broadcasts (up to 700MB) should be uploaded on the Festival website www.mediamixx.info in the participation form. The materials will be available on-line for visitors to the website.

3.5. For the purposes of the competition all programs that are not essentially musical should be submitted with presentation (summary of the content) in English. The presentation (digital format) should also be uploaded on the Festival website.

3.6. Competition entrants should submit the following additional materials during the Festival:

3.7. No shows that are a compilation of several other shows will be admitted for participation.

3.8. Advertising materials about the programs may also be sent to support the application.

3.9. Materials sent to enter the competition program will be returned to sender only at its express request, specified in the entry forms, and to its account.

Art. 4. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

4.1. For participation in the selection of the Festival each applicant must pay a fee of 78 Euro (or its equivalent in BGN) for each individual program.

4.2. Entry fees should be paid not later than 16th May 2008.

4.3. Entries in respect of which no entry fee is paid within the term specified in 4.2. will be withdrawn from selection and competition.

4.4. Entry fee in respect of programs withdrawn from selection is not refundable.

4.5. Bank transfers will be made to the Mediamixx Group Ltd. account specified in the payment form.

4.6. All bank charges will be for the sender’s account.

Art. 5. SELECTION COMMITTEE

5.1. The working language of the Festival is English.

5.2. The programs entered for the contest should have been broadcast for the first time after 30th May 2007.

5.3. The participating programs will be examined by a Selection Committee, in the presence of the Festival Director in order to establish whether they comply with the stated categories and requirements of the Rules.

5.4. This Committee will also check the quality, new ideas and formats and the manner of realization of the programs presented. The Selection Committee will sit from 17th to 21st May 2008.

5.5. The Selection Committee may relocate entries into other categories if they do not comply with the requirements set forth in the Rules.

5.6. This Committee will define the program of the Festival.

5.7. In case the program does not comply with the requirements, the Selection Committee or its authorized technical associate will notify entrants of its decision, which may not be appealed, by 24th May, 2008.

Art. 6. JURY

6.1. Entries to the competition will be judged by a 5- member International Jury represented by professionals.

6.2. The jury members will judge according to the following rules and criteria:

6.3. The protocols and number of points awarded to each program will be kept and audited by an auditor company presented at the beginning of the Festival.

Art. 7. AWARDS

7.1. The following prizes will be awarded at the Festival:

7.2. Personal appearance of winners or representatives of theirs at the time of the Gala Prize-giving Ceremony is especially important to the protocol of the Event. (NB!)

Art. 8. GENERAL CONDITIONS

8.1. The correct and accurate completion of the forms is a compulsory condition of entry

8.2. Entry forms must be completed directly on www.mediamixx.info not later than 16th May, 2008.

8.3. Entrants will at the time of completing the entry form declare their consent for using all the materials and to broadcast a fragment of the presented program for informational publicity, as well as to broadcast the program for public presentation within the framework of the competition program, to the materials being used for information and advertising purposes and that they authorize the organizers to exhibit the materials within the competition program of the Festival. The Festival will also have the right to use fragments of the programs in relation to Mediamixx’08 brand (events, advertisements, release of parts in radio programs, documentation, Internet, etc.) free of charge and without any possible future claims by third parties

8.4. These Rules are available in Bulgarian and English but if any disputes arise the English version will prevail. English is also the working language of the Festival.

8.5. By filling out and signing the entry form the participant agrees to full acceptance of the conditions set forth in these Rules.
