His professional experience includes many years work in BTA /Bulgarian Telegraph Agency/ and BNT /Bulgarian National TV/ where he hosted the news emissions in the most popular political show "Vsiaka nedelia" /"Every Sunday"/. Some years later he became one of the hosts of another popular weekly program "Panorama" and in 1989 together with Toma Tomov he created the weekly program "Nabljudatel" /"The Observer"/. In his carrier Dimitri Ivanov has made interviews with many famous world wide publicists, writers, politicians and journalists.
Nowadays Ivanov has column in "Sega" newspaper. The analyses he makes are filled with exciting personal memories about people and events.
In 2002 he was prized with The Order "Stara Planina" of his special merit for the journalism development and on the occasion of his 70-ty anniversary.
Dimitri Ivanov has translated many novels from English, mainly American authors. In 2004 he was prized with Chernorizets Hrabar Award for lifetime work.
